🆘 Today we’re going to talk about resetting/calibrating the Tiguan panoramic sunroof motor and that of the blind motor ( panoramic sunroof curtain ).
It sounds complicated, but there’s nothing complicated about this procedure, you just have to know it.
Difficulty: Easy
When?
In other words, when I operated the rotary knob on the sunroof, it either didn’t go to the desired position, or went back and forth. It’s at this point that calibration takes on its full importance, giving the motor its bearings so that it remembers its start and end points.
This procedure is recommended when replacing the panoramic roof blind (for the rear-mounted motor) and when removing the glass or blocking the sunroof (for the front-mounted motor).
How?
1 – Sunroof motor.
Rotary knob in closed position and window closed
Pull the knob down and hold for 20 seconds even while it’s moving (this is important) it will open to about half its full travel and close. Now you can release the rotary knob.
You can then test the maximum opening and closing to ensure correct operation.
2 – Sunroof awning motor.
Blind in closed position and rotary knob in closed position.
Press and hold the sunshield lock button for 20 seconds.
The blind opens to about half its full travel and closes. At this point you can release.
Then you can test the maximum opening and closing to ensure correct operation.
You have just calibrated your two motors. Well done! 👋 !
