Changing the front and rear sunroof blinds on BMW MINI COOPER R55, R56, R60

Quick tutorial: How to change the sunroof blind BMW MINI COOPER R55, R56, R60.

Overview:

1- Remove rear / front sunroof window

Remove the three screws on each side from inside the vehicle.

Do the same on each side.

2 – Carefully remove the rear window

3 – Removing the rear sunroof blind

Remove the screw from above, freeing the left-hand part.
Do the same on each side.

4 – Unclip the blind

Unclip the plastic sunshields on each side, paying attention to surrounding parts.

5 – Installing the new rear blind

Insert the awning, paying attention to the fabric, and clip the plastic parts in place.

6 – Refit nut from step 3

7 – Replace the rear window (reverse step 2)

8 – Re-tighten the 3 screws on each side ( reverse step 1 )

Tighten the 3 screws on the left and right sides

9 – Adjusting the sunroof window if necessary

One side at a time
Loosely tighten the left and right screws to adjust the translation, then retighten the screws once you feel the setting is correct.
The measurements from left to right are as follows:

Measure 1:
from 0 to 1 mm

Measure 2:
from 0 to 0.5 mm

Size: 3
from 0 to 1 mm

10 – Sunroof initialization after disassembly

The sunroof can be reset to any position
Hold the switch during the entire procedure

1 – Press and hold the “Close” switch
The sunroof will move a few centimetres
Continue to operate the switch in this position
Movement realized :
Hold the switch in the “Close” direction in the first position.

1. Sunroof closes completely after 30 seconds
2. Sunroof opens fully
3. The sunroof then switches to the “closed” position
4. Release the switch.
