Quick tutorial: How to change the BMW MINI COOPER R55, R56, R60 sunroof blind.

• New rear or front awning

Time:

30 MIN

Overview:

1- Remove rear / front sunroof window

Remove the three screws on each side from inside the vehicle.

Do the same on each side.

2 – Carefully remove the rear window

3 – Remove the rear sunroof blind

Remove the screw from the top, freeing the left-hand part.
Do the same on both sides.

4 – Unclip the blind

Unclip the plastic sunshields on each side, paying attention to surrounding parts.

5 – Installing the new rear blind

Insert the awning, paying attention to the fabric, and clip the plastic parts in place.

6 – Refit nut from step 3

7 – Replace the rear window (reverse step 2)

8 – Re-tighten the 3 screws on each side ( reverse step 1 )

Tighten the 3 screws on the left and right sides

9 – Adjusting the sunroof window if necessary

One side at a time
Loosely tighten the left and right screws so that you can adjust the translation, then retighten the screws once you feel the setting is right
The measurements from left to right are as follows:

Measurement :

1: from 0 to 1 mm
2: from 0 to 0.5 mm

3: from 0 to 1 mm

10 – Sunroof initialization after disassembly

The sunroof can be initialized in any position
Hold the switch throughout the procedure

1 – Press and hold the “Close” switch
The sunroof will move a few centimetres
Continue to press the switch in this position
Movement carried out:
Hold the switch in the “Close” direction in the first position.

1. Roof closes completely after 30 seconds
2. It opens completely
3. The sunroof then switches to the “closed” position
4. Release the switch.
