A known problem on our famous panoramic sunroofs is that the vents and even the drainage pipes get blocked by dirt (clumps of leaves, dust, sand, etc.).
Let’s see how we can unclog this before the car turns into a swimming pool 🏊 🏊 .
🔧 Tool 🔧
a bicycle brake cable (or meter) about 2 meters long.

or
Torx T25 screwdriver.
⌚ Time approx. 30 / 45 min.
How?
First of all, we’ll see where the drainage holes are located in the vehicle. It’s not very complicated, they’re located at the 4 corners of the sunroof:
The front 2 can be accessed by opening the panoramic sunroof.
The rear 2 can be accessed by removing the rear window of the sunroof.
1 – Opening the panoramic sunroof in the maintenance position
The sunroof must be opened to the extreme position:
Let me explain: when the sunroof reaches its maximum open position, keep turning the rotary knob, and you’ll see that the roof opens even more, giving you access to the 2 screws in the photo below.
2- Removing the rear window of the panoramic sunroof.
Remove the 2 screws (one on each side), paying attention to the washer underneath.
Then stand on the rear seat to remove the screws hidden behind the gasket (2 on each side). Don ‘t hesitate to put your hand in to lower the gasket so you can pass the screwdriver through.
3 – Unblock the sunroof drain pipes.
Then you have access to the 4 drain holes. All that’s left is to use the brake cable to unblock the drain pipes.
4 – Check sunroof vents.
Pour water into the sunroof “gutter”.
Water must pass through the drain pipes in the sunroof and run to the ground through the wheel arches.
5 – Reassembly.
Reassemble in reverse order.
You’ve unclogged the drain pipes on the panoramic sunroof.
If you need it, I’ve made several tutorials that can help you:
– Grease the panoramic sunroof.
– Changing the panoramic blind/curtain.
– Remove the air deflector for (e.g.) thread maintenance.
– Reset panoramic sunroof and awning motors.
